Chennai's Airport

This is it. Well it's more like the crowd in the airport.
Immigration let us pass with no problem (more on Indian Immigration later). There were nice lines of people, waiting for a visa check. Lines. Queues. Funny how this concept only applies to the airport in Chennai. To no other place! And more on this later too :D

There is this interesting feeling when you arrive in India (or maybe any other Asian country): It seems like something is always hitting your skin. You keep on slapping yourself and still, there must be a mosquito, somewhere. So you overspray yourself with DEET (50%) and try to forget about it.

It's too bad I don't have a picture of outside the airport. The view was great but just too dark (midnight) for my camera. Lots and lots of extra small cars. Half a million of people waiting outside with banners. You just have to pick the right banner. Well Jerry (flying along) found it. So we got in our car (one each) and got driven away.

And the thrill started. Driving in India is... Just incredible. I'll make sure I tell you more about it. But picture this: You've spent the last 24 hours or so in a semi-sleeping, semi-trapped in a giant metallic tube, state and you land in India where you wait an hour for your luggages. A bit stunned you step into that really small car and BOOM! Near Death Experience at each and every crossroads. Trafic lights are useless. You'd never thought there were so many ways to pass a truck. Sometimes horns stay silent. And you keep on holding to your seat. Are we there yet? How about now?

Keep posting dude, it's a pleasure to read you. I hope we'll have chance to visit you over there, sounds like a lot of fun!

Here I am back in PA, working my Auditor-Ass on several Business Process for the SarbOx-certified-wanna-be client. It would be awesome if you could send us some Indian vibe, I would play it on my Ipod.

I look forward for the next post.

    Cheers, Jo
